How to Schedule the Florida Insurance Exam

Florida insurance exams are scheduled through Pearson VUE. Candidates create an account, select the appropriate Florida insurance examination, choose an available testing center and appointment, and pay the examination fee when making the reservation.

The Florida insurance examination fee is $44 per attempt. Appointments may be scheduled as late as one calendar day before the desired test date, subject to availability.

Florida insurance licensing exams are taken at Pearson VUE testing centers. Pearson VUE’s current Florida program provides test-center scheduling rather than remote online delivery for the licensing exam.

What to Expect on Florida Insurance Exam Day

Candidates should arrive at the Pearson VUE testing center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled examination.

Bring one current, unexpired government-issued photo ID with a valid signature. The name on the identification must exactly match the name used for the exam registration.

During check-in, Pearson VUE will review your identification, take your photograph for the score report, and require you to review and sign the Candidate Rules Agreement. You will also have an opportunity to complete an on-screen tutorial before beginning the exam. Tutorial time does not reduce the time available for the examination.

Candidates who miss the scheduled examination or are not admitted may forfeit the examination fee and must pay another fee to schedule a new appointment.

What Happens After the Florida Insurance Exam?

After completing the exam, Pearson VUE reports the result to the candidate and the Florida Department of Financial Services.

If you pass, submit the Florida insurance license application through the Department’s MyProfile system and complete any remaining licensing requirements.

A passing exam score is valid for one year. If the licensing process is not completed within one year of earning the passing score, the examination must be taken and passed again.
