How to get a Oklahoma insurance license

As a life and health insurance education provider, our goal is to guide you through the pre-licensing process. In addition to completing your pre-licensing training, we have simplified the steps to attaining your Oklahoma insurance license.

Oklahoma Insurance Exam Qualifications

In order to qualify to sit for your Life, or Accident & Health, or Life, Accident & Health Oklahoma insurance exam, the following must occur:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of the state of Oklahoma
  • Not committed an act that is a ground for denial, suspension, or revocation of an insurance license

Basic Steps to Obtain an Oklahoma Insurance License

  1. Prepare for your state exam with an insurance course from an Oklahoma insurance school for Life, or Accident & Health, or Life, Accident & Health.
  2. Registration for your state insurance exam can be completed online at PSI Exams. First time users must create an account, which will allow you to schedule your exam location, date and time. If you prefer to schedule your exam by phone, you may call PSI toll-free at 1-800-733-9267.
  3. Upon successfully completing your state insurance exam, you should complete an insurance license application through Vertafore (formerly Sircon). Once you are on Vertafore’s website, you will choose 'Apply for a license' from the menu on the left. On the next page choose 'Individual' next to Submit Resident Application. Next, complete the application by choosing Oklahoma, entering your information and submitting the appropriate application fees.
  • Note: You must complete your application and fingerprints, and receive your insurance license from the Department of Insurance within 2 years of passing your state insurance exam.
